In Kansai, the world’s top class companies related to green businesses, especially batteries and electrical apparatus, and research institutes such as Kyoto University, Osaka University, Kobe University and the Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth are concentrated. Also, it is designated as a zone of the “Kansai Innovation Comprehensive Global Strategic Special Zone”, which is a special zone system that aims to enhance international competitiveness and form an international economic activity base, in which companies located in Kansai can receive various regulatory and taxation benefits.
Especially in the battery field, a wide range of manufacturers, ranging from parts/material and production apparatus to final product, are located in Kansai. This battery cluster, which is unparalleled in the world, is formed by the combination of analysis institutions and high-leveled research institutes.
